Description
I am not a train expert at all. Please let me tell you a little bit about what I know about this magnificent piece of vintage model railroading…I helped a neighbor with a project… It was a pretty big undertaking and I didn’t ask for pay so instead he was a retired model railroad guy and offered me this car… He told me he would never use it and would like me to have it.
He would set up this big gigantic track that was all put together with bolts and they would have model railroad shows… Maybe in the 60s or 70s… I really don’t know when and I don’t know how old this car is at all. I didn’t ask him how old it was. I was going off of the Internet and looked up the international Harvester trucks tractors… They were from the 50s to the 60s I believe… Do your research because… I seriously know nothing.
I pointed out all the little things that were wrong with the piece… Please see all of the photographs and read all of the captions. I am standing over the peace taking notes… I’m trying my best to show you everything but if I missed something… It wouldn’t be intentional at all. This piece is as is… As found… Could be used for model railroading… So usable… With parts missing… Smokestack etc.…
Opinion…
There is no doubt the international harvester tractors are collectible just by themselves and most likely the train toy company had rights to use the international Harvester toys… That’s what I’m assuming or maybe the guy just assembled this but… Boy… The shelf appeal… It is outstanding… If you collect International Harvester and really want something to put on a fireplace mantel… This piece has shelf appeal… It’s big… It’s detailed beautifully… The international Harvester tractors look beautiful… The color is correct… The patina is dirty yet unmistakably vintage… Most of the dirt could be blown off with a blower.
So I show you every side in the picture and sure enough I look over into my box supplies and what do you know?… The perfect size box and all my packing material sitting there… Ready to go… Ready to make this shipping transaction 100% accurate by showing you the detailed beautiful packing I did… I think I will double check everything prior to shipping but the basics you understand why I packed with care…
The box is light… Tight… And right… like I said I’m going to make some adjustments to make sure I did it 100% correct but it is 100% accurate and padded beautifully. I love showing my customers how their items will arrive… It’s honest… Thank you, John
